i’m so tired of hearing about autism and vaccines

vaccines don’t cause autism

there’s plenty of research and evidence backing that up

but that’s not even the main point

if we pretend for a second that vaccines did cause autism, it’s scary to think of how many parents are so afraid of having autistic children that they would rather their child literally DIE from a preventable disease than have an autistic child

because even a lot of the people who AREN’T anti-vaxx shouting “BUT VACCINES DON’T CAUSE AUTISM!!!”–if they were to learn that that weren’t true–would change their tune in an instant

so many people honestly believe that being dead or infected with a serious (and often fatal) disease is better than being autistic

and such heavy stigma is absolutely terrifying

I blame autism speaks for the way they depict autism. They basically make people think it’s better to be dead than autistic
