Remember that time there was an incarnation of the Hulk that used a smartphone like GOD FUCKING DAMN IT I COULDN’T EVEN BEGIN READING THE TEXT BECAUSE THE FIRST THING I SAW WAY THESE DOUCHE BAGS ON THEIR GODDAMN SMARTPHONES AND THEN I SEE THE GODDAMN HULK WHAT THE FUCK KIND OF FUCKING HULK IS THIS HE SHOULD BE ANGRY AND SMASHING SHIT NOT FIDDLING WITH HIS PHONE LIKE A DOUCHE AND IT’S NOT EVEN A GIANT PHONE OR ANYTHING IT’S JUST A REGULAR SIZED PHONE HIS GODDAMN THUMB IS COVERING THE ENTIRE GODDAMN SCREEN HOW IS HE EVEN USING IT JESUS GODDAMN CHRIST WHAT SORT OF GODDAMN HULK HAS A GODDAMN IPHONE FUCK THIS SHIT
That’s fair and all, but are you not going to mention the fact that Dare Devil, a blind man, also got this fancy phone? I guess they just really needed to stay in contact with him and it was easier to make another one then order a completely different one XD
To be fair also, that’s not Bruce Banner hulk, that’s Amadeus Cho, the Totally Awesome Hulk. He retains his super smarts and doesn’t go all rage mode.
You see, the whole Electoral College system has gotten on people’s nerves over the years [citation needed/s], and some states have opted to allocate their Electoral votes to whoever wins the popular national vote, no matter what. The map of states that have signed that compact looks something like this:
All the green states are the ones have adopted the compact, and all the yellow states currently have the compact under review.
Furthermore, all the yellow states are states that Trump won. Turning those electoral votes over to Hillary, the winner of the popular vote, would give her the presidency.
Now the Electoral College apparently doesn’t actually cast their votes until December 19th, which means that if the compact is passed before then in those four states–Missouri, Arizona, Michigan, and (most importantly, as it has the largest number of Electoral votes) Pennsylvania–then those states’ Electoral votes will go over to Hillary and she will win the presidency.
Of course, that leaves just over a month to get four state governments to pass an agreement into law. In any normal situation, that would be nigh-impossible. But the nation is essentially in crisis mode right now, and with enough attention maybe this can get fast-tracked through. Or even if it doesn’t, drawing attention to the mere fact that this compact exists may help motivate Electorates to vote against their state and towards the overall will of the country.
Either way, share this information. There’s still time.
Listen, I am NOT HAPPY with Trump winning the election. I think it reflects incredibly bad on the United States as a whole and it’s just… Well depressing, let’s just leave it at that.
HOWEVER. Even though the election system in America is clearly flawed and most likely should change. We must accept the result of the election. I’m NOT saying you need to respect Trump or stop using the #NotMyPresident line. But the democratic process, however flawed it is, should still be honored.
It’s incredibly dangerous to tamper with these things. And you HAVE to remember that even though Hillary won the popular vote, she didn’t win it by a landslide whatsoever.
There’s still more than 59 MILLION Americans who obviously wanted Trump for president. And as much as it hurts to see so many people blatantly ignore Trumps insane, nasty and abhorrent words during the campaign, a lot of these people voted for him not for what he said but for what he represented. That change in the system they feel so disillusioned with. There’s racists, and misogynists, and plain bad people who voted for him I’M NOT SAYING THEY DON’T EXIST.
But there’s also ordinary people who are fed up with being insulted or put down because they dared to want something different.
To deny their right to the president they elected is not going to “save America”. It’s going to put the final nail in the coffin.
It’s going to cause such a harsh division that I don’t think there will be a coming back without a civil war.
As much as I was rooting for Hillary and for justice. I don’t want this to happen.
Just like what happened with Brexit, the will of the people must be respected. However unfair it is for the other side.
Because if we don’t try to reach an understanding, the country is no more.
Frankly THE REASON why Trump was elected is because many of us refused to reach an understanding. Many of us refused to stop demonizing white people. But after being told how bad of a person you are just for mere existing. You’d also go with the guy that is telling you you’re ok, we’ll make everything ok again.
I mean come ON. This is people you live with, this is people you work with, you cohabit the country with. If you don’t listen, if you don’t engage, if you don’t try to bring your point forward and instead offer nothing but aggression and resentment you get nowhere.
NO MATTER if they started it first, NO MATTER if they are the irrational ones, the uneducated ones, the white ones. Truth is we didn’t stop and listen, we condescendingly ignored their points of view, we put them down.
And that’s when Trump saw opportunity. He tapped on to that anger WE created. That hate WE instigated.
And here we are now.
All I’m saying, maybe it’s not a good idea to try to get our way after all. Much as I would love this outcome. It’s also shitting on the will of half of the country and I just… It’s just not right. Hillary Clinton knows this, Barack Obama knows this, we should all accept this. Keep up the fight, keep up protesting for what’s not fair, but let’s recognized that we lost this, that we lost due to our own inability to understand the other side and not try to reach a compromise and have a discussion.
Just thought I’d share my thoughts.
Also many Trump supporters believe that the system is rigged and Hillary would cheat her way to the top. This? This is proving them right. This is giving them their convictions and then pulling the mat out from under them. There will be riots. The anti-Trump rallies and recent racist attacks will be nothing in comparison to fueling the fire like this. Should the system be changed? Definitely. Next term. Trump is bad news, and it looks bleak, but doing anything other than taking the high road will only make things worse.
We could always ask Trump what his opinion is on someone winning the Electorate but losing the Popular. Oh wait, he already gave that when he thought Mitt was going to win the Popular vote last time;
