dont mine at night is terrible advice that big mob wants to spread so you go into mines during the daytime where mobs spawn the most.
mobs spawn where its dark but only so many mobs can spawn at a time so when you mine during the day the only dark place they can spawn is in the caves where they’ll be more concentrated. mining at night means they can spawn on the surface so it will be fairly evenly spread out between caves and surface so you’ll encounter less mobs down there. its the same reason why mob grinders work in skyfactory/skyblock
