sokka was the only kid in that show with social skills and a brain and he effortlessly charmed literally every. single. person. he met especially royalty no matter the age or nation this is why the writers had to nerf him and make him a non bender cause if he coulda bend anything the show woulda been called sokka and his good pal the avatar and its main conflicts would all be resolved by the third episode tops

I am so pleased at how many notes are some version of “I don’t fear the science, I fear the corporations who control it” because that is EXACTLY the attitude you should have. GMOs can save us. Monsanto will kill us.

Dude, Just Come-up With a Headcanon Like A Normal Human Being

You could tell someone a non fiction story from history like it’s just a work of fiction and they would find plot holes in it, it’s inevitable no matter how well written something can be

i remember in steven universe people kept calling things plotholes when they really werent plotholes. The orb on the moon. The fact that ruby claimed pink diamond was shattered with roses sword. They called these things plotholes despite it was clearly just forshadowing for future episodes. Half the time plotholes arent plotholes, yall are just impatient and want instant conclusion to plotlines

teachers who punish their students for being imperfect and human need to like. resign lol instead of marking students as absent when they’re over 15 minutes late why don’t you ask them what their problem with getting to class is? why withhold marks from your students if they haven’t completed an optional questionaire? why be rude to a student and provide no constructive feedback if they email you about an assignment that’s due in a couple days & is going poorly? jesus fuck find another job

these teachers are the same kind that brag about how many students fail their class and lack the self awareness to realize that many students failing generally means a failure at teaching, not learning

This scene still breaks my heart each and every single time I watch it.

Azula was a terrible, horrible person. She would have set the world aflame and laughed over the broken carcass of her brother.

But she was fourteen.

She was so ruined and twisted by her childhood and by her nation, driven to insanity by the expectations placed upon her.

Azula was bad and yet I can’t help but feel so terribly sorry for her.

“I don’t have sob stories like all of you.”

SHE WAS FUCKING FOURTEEN WHAT

“My own mother….thought I was a monster.
She was right, of course, but it still hurt.”

actually, i think one of the shows strengths is that they didn’t shy away from what a horrible tragedy this was. even though she was clearly a villain and did unspeakably awful things, this scene was still framed as sad. there was no celebrating- they just look at her sadly.

the music for the battle that leads up to this moment is sad too- it’s an epic battle, visually probably one of the biggest things done in the entire series, and they could have played it with thumping, energetic, dangerous music. but instead it’s quiet and somber. because the whole scenario is heartbreaking, and they know it.

i think the fact that a kid’s show had so much respect for it’s viewers and their ability to understand the complexity of this situation is what makes avatar great.
