So is the phrase “Play of the game” bad localisation, or are those words in that order meant to actually mean something?
It makes no grammatical or logical sense?
Play… Of the game?
Play belonging to the game?
The game’s play?
Player of the game makes sense. I mean, it drops “Best” from the start, but that’s common enough in English. See “man of the match” in sportsball. That he was the best man is implied.
Assuming that sentence were to be interpreted literally, not assuming an -er is exempted, then it would imply a stage play adaptation of overwatch was made by the highlighted player.
It’s not talking about a player, just a play.
I am not aware of any definition of the world play that makes that a coherent statement, except for stage play (thus making it like “Book of the film”) without changing something.
A single “turn” or action or maneuver. In American football it would be when you have the two teams lined up and the offense makes their run until they score or the defense tackles the ball carrier and they stop to line up again.
JonTron went full-on White Supremacist this weekend and it was so severe, so gratuitous, and so irrefutable that no one, not even his most hardcore fans, are making any attempt to justify him.
