It’s also really funny because the story of the Pied Piper is that the Piper helped solve a community’s problem- but because they didn’t like how efficiently and easily the Piper did it, they didn’t pay him what they promised to. So the Piper led away the entire community’s children and they never returned.

Sound familiar?

I’ve seen this a couple times on Facebook and no no no no. This is borderline abusive. Maybe a father would send this, but a boyfriend???

“It’s hard because I’ve always been a tremendously good person”
What are you implying about your girlfriend there, pal?

“When I text you, you are to answer”
Okay mom. Seriously. She’s your girlfriend, let her have fun instead of having to check her phone constantly.

Don’t patronize your partner and act like they’re your child. Going to a party doesn’t mean they value parties over you. And if you have to remind your girlfriend not to cheat multiple times maybe you should reevaluate your trust issues. Don’t give your girlfriend a fucking curfew. If you can’t trust her to be reasonable at a party to the point that you send her a fucking book of rules, then maybe you shouldn’t be together.

Seriously. Significant others aren’t your possessions/children.

The sad part is that shit like this really happens there are men out there that think this is normal. And if you don’t stop it early on it just gets worse, talking from experience..really messes you up when you still get haunted by this behavior years later

^^
Possessiveness =\= cute and usually doesn’t end innocently

this is so gross

be careful, stay safe, don’t drink too much, text me when you get home etc is one thing but this… this is just fucked up

every sentence of this text made me cringe, if parents sent that it’d be already worrying and disgusting but from your partner? FUCKING RUN

This . This. A thousand times this. I dealt with this sort of shit from an ex for nearly 2 years!! I lost all my friends coz they couldn’t handle the rules he set down for me, and ultimately this is why I left.
Possessiveness is not cute.

Saving 20 odd dollars a week by not going to Dunkin Donuts for coffee isn’t going to help when the working poor’s real problem is worrying about being able to still make rent if they miss work due to the flu, so let’s stop pretending like this “junior piggybank savers/guilt the poor out of simple comforts” technique is a viable solution to the problem of stagnating wages and skyrocketing living costs.

i still don’t understand the dratini evolution

image

like

you have these two ethereal blue snake-like dragons

and then some chunky stuffed-animal looking puff the magic dragon

i dont understand. what happened nintendo.

this has been around for years now but there’s so many people that haven’t seen it but the common theory is that there was a last minute decision to change around evolutionary lines without changing actual pokemon designs that much to match it better

like this:

image

colors and body styles line up much better here, although my personal belief is that dragonite was supposed to be a standalone legendary but he didn’t fit in with the legendary bird trio so he was cut to just be a powerful dragon type, and then the dratini/dragonaire line was handed over to him. that left gyarados without an evolutionary line though, so i think that’s when magikarp was added in to create a sort of amusing and surprising evolution for players that didn’t expect a powerful pokemon to come out of a useless one

I mean, gyarados is pretty clearly based on the koi dragon story about the koi fish that spent a hundred years trying to climb a waterfall while demons mocked it and raised the height of the falls until it finally reached the top and the gods rewarded it by transforming it into a dragon, so I doubt Magikarp -> Gyarados family is a mistake.

image

Dragonite’s line is based on Korean Dragons and Imugi! Imugi are lesser dragons that look like giant serpents and live in the ocean. If an Imugi can catch a Yeouiju (like a big bead, the kind that Dragonair has!) that falls from heaven, they can become a TRUE dragon like Dragonite.

I pulled this image from wikipedia’s article on Korean Dragons, note that the dragon is holding the big yeouiju.

Today’s episode showed us that:

image

You can’t really live on love alone, because if you don’t have anything for yourself, you don’t have anything to offer to the relationship.

image

It’s okay to be messy, make mistakes, and have fun as long as you learn from it and own up to it.

image

Sometimes we need those we love to give us a reality check.

image

In a time where we’re only beginning to recognise that not everyone wants to be a part, it’s still totally valid for people to think of being parents as one of the greatest accomplishments in their lives. The point is that you’re given the choice.

image

We can’t control growing, but we choose when to grow up.

image

Real life inspires our art. Greg couldn’t come up with a hit in six months, but early in his car-washing days, he came up with his number one single. Things inspire us, and art doesn’t exist in a vacuum.

I really loved this episode. It had the perfect blend of magic and slice-of-life.
