when I was in the 5th grade, i accidentally started a manhunt.
i would leave little notes to my friend at the end of the day so he’d find them first thing in the morning. problem is, he didn’t know i was only doing it as a joke. for example, one of the notes said “i’m coming to your house”, and i was going to be going home with him that next day. he knew my handwriting and, understandably, freaked out a bit. when my teacher confronted me, i panicked and said a boy named John Smitherson came up to me and told me to write those, and that he was moving today so don’t bother going after him. obviously, the police went after him. i sent the police looking across the tri state area looking for a kid that didn’t exist. oops.
Druid (aka DM’s 8-year-old daughter): my druid’s name is Silver Wolf! She was raised by wolves. Her animal companion’s her sister, also named Silver Wolf. So are their parents. Actually, the whole pack is named Silver Wolf. Wolves aren’t very creative.
Today my professor told me every cell in our entire body is destroyed and replaced every seven years. How comforting it is to know that one day I will have a body that you will have never touched.
This just made me feel so warm.

- goo that likes to form geometric shapes
- a three meter tall bird
- the ship itself that turns into a giant robot
- genetically engineered uplifted creature (possibly some sort of hybrid)

As you gently trace the edges and corners of ze’s geometric planes, they quiver, the motion sending ripples through them, like jello left near a booming speaker.
You have never heard the Captain so angry, her voice rising into the whistle of a teakettle left to boil for too long, her feathers ruffled into disarray and her brilliantly red quills hiked up high to frame her face. “Full power to the forwards shields!” She cries, talons gripping the console before her. “Ready engines, on my mark, we ram their ship!”
You have only seen the Queen before in holo-vids, a terrifying figure upon a battlefield in full war-armor, and she is no less intimidating in the quiet calm of the royal court. Her blue fur ticked silver and white, she moves slowly, gracefully, draping herself over the cushions embroidered with gold and synthmetal, mane falling in lazy waves about her shoulders. “Apprrrrroach.” She purrs, a low rumble deep in her chest. “You have done me a grrrreat favorrr, human…”
“Ugh, please. Do not compare us to that overgrown mold.” They hiss, rising up from the puddle of their body like a serpent, sensory patches glowing a harsh red in the dim light of their quarters. “One nonsolid species is hardly comparable with another. They are nothing but suspension and slime. We are perfect liquid.”
“His name is Void Dancer.” The Captain tells you, as you watch the Ship stretching on the landing pad, flexing all four of his slender arms as the technicians and engineers move about him upon their hovering platforms, scraping space barnacles off his plating and polishing scuffs from tiny bits of interstellar refuse and micro-asteroids. “He can be…affectionate.”
“I’ve worked on Ships before.” You remind her. “They mean well, don’t they? They just want to protect their residents.”
“They do.” She sighs. “Whether or not it’s at the sacrifice of their own wellbeing.”

For a moment you are tempted to be concerned, feeling the wind on this world sting against your cheeks- but they are not some untethered balloon to be set adrift. Bobbing alongside you, somehow perfectly stable save for the never-ceasing motions of their tentacles and the puffing of their air bladders, they act as if the wind is not even there. But then, compared to the windstorms of a gas giant, what’s a little breeze?
I never got around to the plant! Here’s the plant. They are also kind of an octopus that is a flower.
The wheels of their potted chair squeak, accompanied by the soft shuffle of tendrils dragging them forwards. “It is not that my kind does not sleep.” They explain, reaching up to smooth the blankets upon your bed. “But our cycle of waking and sleep is far different from yours…I have been awake for nearly five of your years. When I sleep, I shall sleep for another five. I am not yet tired, however.”
