I hate when people say “I’m Spanish” like no that’s a language not a nationality
I’m reminded of the time I saw someone complaining that white people speaking Spanish was appropriation, like there isn’t an entire country of white people who learn Spanish at the age of 2 just south of France and right next to Portugal.
You know what I hate? What really grinds my gears?
When people see something, a performance, a piece of art, anything that they don’t like or don’t understand, and their first reaction is saying “Wow. They had too much time on their hands.” I’ve seen it happen time and time again.
Fuck that.
Things don’t just get created because people have time on their hands. They aren’t inevitable. They take a conscious effort. People make things because they want to, because they believe the end result will be worth it. Whoever made the thing in question probably wishes they had *more* time on their hands so they could make it faster or better.
“They had too much time”, more like “I don’t believe in self-expression.”
