Anonymous asked: I really feel like Trump as president won't be that bad. For one, since the Republican Party kinda hated him but couldn't get rid of him, most of his asinine stupidity won't get through congress.

bevendre:

If even a quarter of his asinine stupidity makes it through Congress then it could very well set the country back decades.  Policies aside, the sheer precedent that the spray-tanned ass-clown has set is absolutely disgusting.  The people have chosen to vote for a racist, sexist, xenophobic, islamophobic bigot with absolutely no experience in the field and no plan for most of the major issues that he’s going to have to tackle in one way or another, over a woman with decades of experience and well documented plans.

America has voted, and its vote boils down to “Fuck you if you’re not white, not male, not Christian, not straight, and below the age of 40.”

Not to mention that merely his pressence in that position is enough for people to validate their own hatred and violence. it happened in brexit, which was purely an opinion poll, after which there was a drastic increase of racism and xenophobia.

okay–anyways:

i would try to make a joke but we just got a vice president who openly, proudly admits he would subject children to psychological torture if it meant there was even a chance that they wouldn’t grow up to be like me. a specific kind of psychological torture that is so traumatizing it often ends with children taking their own lives. we have a vice president who would rather have a dead child than a gay one.

successfully profiled and found a lost cat thanks to a criminal minds binge someone tell the FBI to hire me

My roommate came to get me because the cat was missing. I paused the show and went outside and I was all walking around the crime scene like okay the kitchen window is open and there is no screen so he must have jumped out here and ran off and they were like “so he’s gone???”

And I was like “we’ll pretend I’m a cat. There are two ways to go, towards the street and the lights or into the dark. A cat would choose the quieter dark spot” so I went into the dark and there like ur never gonna find him but I said LISTEN Spike was an outside cat before we moved and he’s been trapped inside so I bet he ran to the most bushy and grassy area. They said I was full of shit but u know what I found in the bushes? The fucking cat bitch I’m FBI material.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

quartz-poker:

Just some clarification for everyone celebrating and everyone reeling from shock over the admittedly momentous election result:

The election is not over.

-“Oh god what are you saying?!”

I’m saying the states got their mandates on who to tell their electors to vote for. The electors, however, have not voted yet. There’s a built-in delay to our system that gives the government time to doublecheck and make sure the election wasn’t rigged, to make sure foreign powers didn’t intervene. There’s a built-in delay to ensure that if a candidate unexpectedly falls ill or does something irredeemably horrible after the popular vote is cast, the Electoral College has a chance to change its mind. In theory, they could still elect Hillary Clinton. Or they could boot Trump and elect Pence outright.  They could even elect Jill Stein or Barry Goldwater or Jeb Bush.

December 19th is when the Electoral College will vote. And even then, that’s not the final day. Congress has to approve the votes in early Janurary after a certification process.

And then, ONLY then, would Donald Trump officially be the next President.

-“But those things have never happened before.”

While this is true, the possibility has always been there, and this election is full of unprecedented things. One or two more unprecedented events before somebody gets sworn in isn’t out of the question.

-”This sounds too good to be true/This sounds like rigging.”

Hopefully trumps trial on the 28th will be enough for them to deem him unfit to be president

Mr. Dr. Strange = Benedict Cumberbatch = Sherlock Holmes = Robert Downey Jr. = Tony Stark

Marvel’s Doctor Strangelove, or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Cumberbatch, tells the story about how Dr. Gregory House (based on Sherlock Holmes) became a superhero.

hugh Lorey would have been a better doctor strange

i dont trust anyone who thinks trumps presidency wont be disastrous.

people opposing hillary: she’s crooked
people opposing trump: he makes me fear for my life

Isn’t that also the usual dichotomy of it, though?

men going on a first date: what if she’s lying on her profile page?
women going on a first date: what if he’s going to kill me?
