This was a minor thing brought up in Animorphs, actually, as the reason both the Yeerks feared humanity and the Andalites were grappling with a mix of fear and awe. Took the Andalites three times as long as humanity to do the same trick, and the Yeerks never evolved technology organically, they just had it handed to them on a silver platter, but they recognized humanity was advancing rapidly. One of the side books mentioned the Yeerks thought Star Trek was a documentary- when they realized it wasn’t, they were relieved, until they took another look and realized we’d have all that technology before the dates listed in Star Trek. Then they shit themselves and went “Oh, gotta conquer them before they conquer us.”
I remember one of the reasons why they thought star trek was a documentary was because ax pointed out that klingons (specifically commander worf) look incredibly identical females of a specific alien species
everyone thinks of the founding fathers as these almighty gods but one time john adams was off in france and he sent back his notes from his meetings but accidentally attached some pages from his diary so all of congress stopped what they were doing to read john adams’ diary and laugh at him
