There’s a lot of negativity in the Sanders camp right that I’m seeing. I understand, you’re disappointed. Bernie didn’t get the turnout we were all hoping for, and it’s troubling when you believe in a cause so much to see that your work doesn’t seem to be helping anything.
Let me tell you- you’re wrong. These numbers wouldn’t have been possible a couple of months ago, but Bernie is getting record numbers in donations and volunteers, he’s doing well in national polls and is becoming more and more favorable in a general election.
I know that the image above is discouraging, but it’s also very misleading. All that dark blue up there is for super delegates. Super delegates are NOT promised delegates- nothing is official for them until they vote at the DNC this summer. And, if the major populace shows favor to Bernie, they’ll probably switch (the same thing happened with Obama!).
Take away those super delegates and it’s close. Like, REALLY close. And the nomination is still months away.
Bernie can still win Florida, New York, or California (all three have huge amounts of delegates at stake) and take the lead. But for him to do that you can’t give up on him. Don’t let mass media tell you it’s over for him like they’ve already started to do and have been doing since day one. Don’t let other people here tell you that there’s no point because the system is rigged- the system IS rigged against him, but he’s overcome everything they’ve thrown at him.
Keep the momentum going, keep being politically aware and active and don’t be deceived or discouraged by clever number games.
Why did they take away having pokemon follow you? heart gold and soul silver had it so why did they make it not a thing anymore? Having your pokemon follow you was a great idea so who the fuck decided to stop doing that?
I loved her when she did greenface in Guardians of the Galaxy.
I loved her when she did blueface in Avatar.
I especially loved her when she did exasperated balletface for Center Stage, the best dance movie of all time.
Despite all of that love (literally decades of love), I cannot support Zoe Saldana donning blackface to portray Nina Simone in the upcoming biopic Nina.
Really, now? This is egregious. Yes, Zoe Saldana is an Afro-Latina woman, but that doesn’t excuse the darkened makeup, the wig, and the prosthetic nose it requires to make Zoe look like Nina. That’s blackface.
Actresses who look like Nina Simone really do exist, Hollywood. Look harder.
