oh i’m sorry were you saying something about me being an “artifact of the modern patriarchal medical-industrial complex” cause I was too busy looking at this photo of a 2000 year old classical greek marble statue of three transgender women just sorta chilling and being gorgeous.

life isn't a conscious being that makes deliberate choices within a personal moral framework and a socially constructed value system. you, on the other hand, as a human being acting consciously and non-randomly within both of those frameworks, should be able to come to a conclusion based on reasonable moral standards about what the most equitable and respectful course of action is in any given circumstance, and act accordingly. it is especially incumbent upon you to do so if you are in a position of authority or otherwise have greater ability to determine the outcome of a situation than those who will be most affected by it.
Here’s the thing that bugs me about Tumblr fandoms.
People latch onto certain headcanons. These headcanons become popular. Suddenly the fandom starts insisting that said headcanon is actual canom. They become so militant about it that they punish anyone who disagrees with them.
Now, I absolutely love headcanons. By all means, you should rewrite canon. Reinterpret canon. Make the canon more inclusive and more diverse. Question the messages put forth by the canon. You have the freedom to change and critique the canon as you see fit.
But please remember that other people are allowed to have their own interpretations as well. Give everyone the liberty to develop headcanons that appeal to them. And for the love of God, don’t attack people that see things differently than you.
So proud of my mother for doing her own research after I sent her that meme. A sign she hung in her car window.
Stay woke
Is this true?
Not only is it true, it gets worse. The Susan G Komen For The Cure Foundation has actually successfully sued “competing” charities, because (paraphrasing) their “message or branding was infringing.”
You read that correctly: they took money that people had donated to cure cancer, and hired attorneys with it, to sue ANOTHER group of people trying to find a cure for cancer, who, in turn, had to us their donated money to hire their own legal counsel to defend themselves.
Yeah signal boost because not enough people know about this and seriously FUCK SUSAN G. KOMEN THEY ARE THE ACTUAL WORST
It’s that time of year again, please remember Komen is the actual worst
Komen For The Cure is pretty much awful.
My mother died in 1996 from breast cancer. Most cancer charities are scams, in that people throw fancy parties and get rich off them and very little money goes into research or support for patients. Here are some vetted cancer charities that get good scores on Charity Navigator and pay medical expenses or fund research:
