this is the fan out of a 2011 iMac. see how it’s never been cleaned in its entire life? that’s because you have to remove the motherboard to get to it. this would be the motherboard whose screws are all painted white and say WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED on them.
that’s right, if you want to clean the fan of your computer that gets hot enough to function as a small space heater if it’s not running at full efficiency, you need to void your warranty. there’s a reason my family’s two iMacs both (this is #2) became unusable because they essentially melted from the inside
I’m the asshole author that’s going to get published, and create multiple different fan fiction accounts on multiple fan fiction websites and write fan fiction for my own books, mixed in with a few other things as well, so that when I get somewhat noticed, I can talk to my fans and be like, “Oh, I write ‘fan fiction’ about my own book. But you have to guess which one is me” and watch them all go absolutely batshit crazy trying to find me.
Bonus: Claim everything you’ve written is canon, watch the fans scramble and debate over which stories are yours so they know for sure what’s canon.
This would actually be good because imagine how many annoying shipping wars will get resolved because there *might* be a “technically* canon fanfic AU out there of it.

then make a tumblra count where you do shitty drawings of the fic an say “i made a tumblr where I posted concept art for it but I don’t remember my login”
people ABSOLUTELY overblow how “bad” homestuck was. Say whatever you want about the fandom but the actual webcomic was amazing and practically defined itself as its own fucking genre. It created a storytelling medium we couldn’t have even fucking imagined, it spanned from deviantart to vine for gods sake, who could have imagined using fucking deviantart as a medium to tell the story of a webcomic? It’s one of the biggest works in the English language and spiraled into this status from a shitty little user command comic years ago.
honestly the worst thing the fandom has done was accidentally ruin other peoples cosplays with shitty paint that got everywhere. other than that it’s mostly just been generic “inserting their fandom into everywhere”
