here is an idea: normalise the idea that adopting kids is a valid option even for parents who could conceive a child themselves, and not just an inferior backup option for parents who can’t
LITERALLY ANYONE WHO KNOWS DICK ABOUT SALT AND METALLURGY COULD TELL YOU THIS.
UNLESS YOU PLAN ON USING AN ENTIRE FUCKING CAN OF SALT IN A SINGLE MEAL YOU’RE FUCKED BECAUSE MOISTURE SALT AND METAL WILL RESULT IN CORROSION, ESPECIALLY OF ALUMINUM.
ALL MAJOR SHIP STRUCTURES ARE MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL
And OKAY Aluminum is RESISTANT to sodium corrosion but EVENTUALLY it will eat away at it! Even then that’s only because Aluminum Oxide creates a light barrier to the sodium but STILL THERE’S A REASON YOU FUCKING STORE SALT IN CARDBOARD BOXES OR GLASS SHAKERS.
Listen does anyone else remember that episode of Scooby Do where theyre talking about how thick the fog was and one of them pulled out a knife and cut a circle in the fog and then ate the fog circle. why is this so vivid.
it seems like a lot of people remember it vividly, but what’s weirder is that everyone i’ve seen remembers him cutting the fog and eating it, but he doesn’t eat it
why does everyone including myself, remember him eating the fog
OK so here’s the dealio
Apparently there IS a scene where Scooby Doo cuts a hole in the fog in the shape of a donut and takes a bite out of it (as evidenced by this picture)
But here’s the strangest thing: All I could find was one screen cap of this instance
I’ve searched all over google and youtube and couldn’t find the actual clip
It’s like someone went to great lengths to erase its existence off the web
All that remains of it is this one picture of the scene
We all remember it vividly, yet the scene itself has simply up and vanished
The whole reason so many people are coming to this whole “all lives matter” vibe from this episode is because they aren’t looking at it in context of the rest of the show. Steven is more than willing to fight his enemies when he has to. He’s had a whole character arc revolving on his desire to fight alongside the gems. What he’s condemning is the act of killing them when they have non lethal alternatives. They have a sword that can incapacitate a gem in one swipe. Why do you need a weapon that’ll straight up kill them? Even from the most practical standpoint, you can see its unnecessary to shatter a gem when you can ko them and bubble them for at least a long as 5000 years. The show isn’t saying that you shouldn’t defend yourself or that you shouldn’t fight your oppressors, its saying that its not right to kill them before they even get a chance to change. Especially when you don’t need to take it that far. And you don’t want 9 year old Devon who was learning karate to defend himself from a bully to say “shit why don’t i stab him to death instead”.
That aside though, ya’ll insist on putting this show and its creators on a pedestal and then get mad when their ideologies don’t match with yours. They are people just like you with their own opinions and beliefs. No matter how many things the show does right you lot still bitch and moan when things don’t go your way.
Finally, it’s a great kids show but it’s still a kids show. You cant turn an optimistic 14 year old pacifist into a jaded morally ambiguous freedom fighter in an American prime time children’s show. Besides. It’s a kid show. Ya’ll getting up in arms over a children’s show. Again. Aren’t you guys a little embarrassed??
