I always reblog this post so fucking fast every time it comes on my dash my phone shuts down the tumblr app and reboots
McKarty 64 is my favorite Mario Kart game.
My favorite part is that the blog post the photo was taken from detailed this mother’s decision-making process and chose this name because her husband saw it on a road sign on the way home
She named her daughter after a road sign
a road sign
there was a girl at my school called “zona” cause he parents went on holiday to spain and saw it and thought it was a nice name. IT LITERALLY MEANS ZONE
“So gems like Amethyst, Rose, and Jasper are very similar in design because of the same mineral structure: Quartz. So how come Ruby and Sapphire, literally the same gems (corundum) look different?”
What do you talking about? They’re about the same size and they both have the same chins. From this we can deduce that corundum gems are small and have square chins
Am I like, the only one who thinks that Jimmy Kimmel’s “Tell Your Kids You Ate All of Their Halloween Candy” thing is a really shitty thing and a dick move?
They’re so hella excited for Halloween and all this candy they have, and usually they’re not allowed to HAVE that much candy, so this candy is really fucking special to them.
And then you tell them you ate it all?
And then the video goes online or on Jimmy Kimmel and people are laughing hysterically at these kids who are sobbing and screaming and they just feel so betrayed by their parents and it’s a joke to Jimmy and his audience!
There was one video where the kids were still sobbing and the mom said “But I was just kidding, it was a joke!” and the kid goes “I don’t care! Shut up and go in the other room!” and his mom is like “Excuse me?!”
Like you just betrayed your child’s trust and upset him, now you’re gonna get mad because he reacted badly to your fucking prank?
if your kid backtalks you over fucking candy then I am sorry but you have bigger issues than “betraying the kids candy trust”.
It’s not about the candy
Yes, many of the kids in the videos back-talked their parents for this, but most of them broke down sobbing! And hell, some of the kids pushed through their tears and said “It’s okay mommy/daddy, I forgive you.”
it’s not a problem with the kids not having respect.
It’s a problem with the parents not respecting their kids and the kids’ feelings.
It’s a problem with thinking it’s funny to watch your child sob because they think you stole something that was important to them.
I pretty much agree with this as well. I’m uncomfortable with crying in general so this seems like a pretty jerkish thing to do.
I mean Halloween is a pretty big freaking deal to kids, it’s the only time of the year where nearly every grown up gives them candy for free. To tell a kid that you’ve eaten their Halloween candy is pretty much the equivalent to telling them you’ve sold all of their toys.
The trust thing bothers me a lot too. Consider this for a moment, parents are lying to their kids, making them cry, and recording them crying just so they can get on a TV show… And people are laughing at that! PEOPLE ARE LAUGHING AT CHILDREN CRYING! YOU SEE HOW MESSED UP THAT IS NOW?!
I don’t know about you, but if my parents did that to me as a kid I wouldn’t let them off the hook or forgive them that easily. In fact I would be pretty hurt overall because it would make me think that my parents don’t respect me.
There I’ve added my two cents because I’m freaking sick of this happening every year!
too many parents treat their kids as something for entertainment. they betray their kids trust jsut to get a quick laugh. It’s shitty parenting. Too many parents forget that children ARE PEOPLE and should still be treated with repsect.
This idea Jimmy Kimmell made was just as bad as that gamer thing he did.
Remember that?
Where he made fun of gamers?
God that pissed me off.
At least he tried and got Markiplier on and he showed him how he does his stuff.
That’s because acting like an asshole gets ratings
