The vast majority of the deaths in wonkas factory could have been prevented if he stated the safety concerns from the start rather than setting up the kids to fail.
When introducing the world of pure imagination, he said that everything was edible. He noticeably did not say that the river of chocolate was off limits. he should have mentioned that youre not allowed to drink from the chocolate river/
Violets shit was so fucking bullshit because he KNEW she had a hobby involving gum and didnt mention the whole blueberry thing until it already started. he could have easily just not shown anyone that but he not only made the gum but explicitly did not mention the bad side effect until it was too late.
Mike TV had a point. teleportation is a massive breakthrough but wonka could have said that the TV wasnt a real TV, just a prototype. If as soon as mike started pointing out how incredible the technology was, wonka could have listed the downsides such as it causing shrinking and being one way.
Dont even get me started on the unnecessary fan in the fizzy lifting drink room. While yes he did state that it was defective and off limits, that fan should have had a grate over it. This one is a grey area because while he DID say the proper warnings, that fan should have had a grate on it.
The only legitimate failure to happen that was not his fault was veruca salt. He clearly stated that the bad eggs are sent through the trash chutes for disposal. Veruca threw a tantrum and failed on her own merrit. She is the only death i will not blame wonka on.
