Just like a guy wearing a dress doesn’t mean he’s trans, a grown ass adult liking a children’s show does not make them a pedophile. But it’s the common misconception anyways and people will argue it to their graves.
the fact that people need to be TOLD this shit is honestly sad and shows just how little people really know about or truly support the trans community.
That even IF people may give you uncomfortable looks, it’s no reason to put yourself down. He continued to act in complete confidence despite the weird looks because he was proud of what he was doing and who he was being.
So instead of saying we should treat kids like these aren’t issues and just let everything be perfect, we should show them that yes, those things WILL happen. You might get teased, you might get weird looks, you might be questioned, but in the end it’s about being confident and sure of yourself and the fact that there will be people who will back you up and support you.
I get really mad when people trivialize trans issues by acting like all it takes to be trans is wearing the clothes of the opposite gender.
STOP.
Trans is not how you dress or act, it’s how you identify.
So quit screaming that every boy in a dress in a show is transgendered because that’s basically profiling and generalizing what ‘trans’ means.
It’s just the same as saying anyone with a lisp must be gay.
There is a very medical reason for being trans. Biologically, male and female brains have subtle differences, each with their pros and cons. Brains and bodies develop at different speeds in the womb so it is possible for the brain to literally have the wrong body. It’s not as simple as wearing a dress or changing your voice, it is an actual medical condition which causes gender dysphoria. Gender Dysphoria is an important part of identifying if someone is trans.
