I like the whole “Unlike Sonic, I don’t chuckle” thing from Knuckles’ theme in Adventure, because literally the first thing you see Knuckles do in Sonic canon is chuckle at Sonic.

“matpat gave the pope undertale” sounds way different than “matpat met the pope while representing the YouTube gaming community and it’s customary to give the pope a gift that’s reflective of the culture your represent and he chose undertale, a game about choices, consequences and reflect and peace/love”

yall say that shit like he didnt make a for-profit clickbait video giving the impression of the former intentionally. with like. a picture of the pope with googly eyes and sans.

come on, here

He does that nearly all the time, hes a youtuber. And like any other youtuber he puts weird or funny pictures in the thumbnail. All he did was give a game to the pope that he knows wont play it.

Is it really so bad that a gaming youtuber chosen to go to an event which also includes giving gifts to someone whose probably had all kinds of things given to in the first place?

this isnt that big a deal, is it the popular thing to hate MatPat now?

matpat is an ableist, bigoted sack of shit and no its not popular to hate matpat now, ive hated him for literal years

so hey: eat my shit

That isnt relevant to the conversation, we’re talking about someone giving someone else a video game.

as far as Toby goes hes honored someone gave Undertale to an important progressive leader as a symbol of peace. Besides people can change and grow, and MatPat has been making small progress.

and where does the ablest accusation come from?

No clue. People have been looking for reasons to hate him ever since fnaf

Your icon is a horse sucking a pacifier

That doesn’t make context any less important

mfw a horsefucker is trying to defend theoryman making a fucking fool of himself

1) I’ve never fucked a horse
2) I just provide context. It’s not my fault people have poor arguments against it.

damned-to-be asked: Given the choice instead of Matt who would you have picked to go meet the pope to represent gamers. Personally I'd have chosen pewdiepie or markiplier. Those two are much better known than Matt and have likely had more impact than he ever will

Then why don’t you ask them what they would have gotten the pope?

Yeah, “matpat met the pope while representing the YouTube gaming community” is actually even more ridiculous so I’m not sure context makes this one better

all I can think of is why not a game that actually fucking matters

one that explored themes of choice, consequence, and virtue in a profound and exciting way that nothing else has ever replicated

No matter what game, people would still complain that the pope doesn’t have a computer

If you watch matpats video, he knows the pope probably won’t play it but it was a symbolic gesture

Anonymous asked: For the book analogy for the Game Theory thing, could I add something? It's like giving a filled up journal. Yes, although the personal you give to can't use the journal for themselves, it shows the giver's life and experiences. Sharing your form of life with another so there is a better understanding.

Exactly

salticid:
“ remember when

Yes but unfortunately people who hate it for being popular won’t let it.
