I want an AU that’s similar to the Civil War in the Marvel Universe, with Luthor and Batman and other human characters joining forces to fight against the metahumans, except they actually succeed in capturing them and they’re forced to live with collars that “turn off” their meta genes, sort of like the first story idea for Zootopia.
Everyone has been corrupted at least once. Superman has evil AUs ALL THE TIME. Come on, give me Evil racist Batman!
And then maybe have him be betrayed by Luthor and saved by one of the meta humans (*COUGH* Clark *COUGH*). Have him befriend them and see the errors of his ways or something. Have him help with the Resistance!
Now THAT would be cool to see!
batman did have an evil counterpart one time. Owlman.
Owlman is by far the most dangerous villain in DC history. One time owlman created a bomb with the evil justice league and had planned to rip a hole in his univrese to drop the bomb on earth prime, the original earth. The reason behind is because earth prime is the earth from which all other earths were spawned from. He planned to kill all life on earth prime which would result n all life in all other universes earths would be rendered lifeless. Batman had to team up with his joker because joker wants to kill batman himself and doesn’t think owlman is fun and that universes red hood
who is jokers good counterpart to stop owlman.
They end up dropping the life killing bomb into a universe where everyone is undead so that nobody dies and owlman is put under super maximum security prison dungeon under the watch of multiverse justice league.
While you are worrying about whether beta readers will steal your ideas, there is a more genuine threat on the horizon.
When offered a publishing contract, please do all your research before you sign. There are a number of fakes and scammers out there, as well as good-intentioned amateurs that don’t know how to get your work to a wide audience. I won’t tell the heartbreaking stories here - there are too many.
Being published badly is worse than being never published.
It can destroy your career and your dreams.
The quick check is to google the publishing house name + scam or warning.
But, to be sure, check with these places first. They aren’t infallible (nothing is) but they can help you protect yourself. They are written and maintained by expereinced writers, editors, publishers and legal folks.
This is really important, so if you are a writer or have writer friends, or you are a writing blog, please reblog it.
Just to let you know, PublishAmerica changed their name to America Star Books.
HEAD’S UP, WRITER TYPES: THIS IS AN IMPORTANT PSA!
Also applies to many so-called freelance sites that are just content mills, and may not pay unless your work is used, even if the contract seems designed otherwise.
