We’ve been coming to this confrontation with Dr. Maheswaran for some time, because somewhere along the line, her actions taught Connie that if she discovered a beautiful, fantastic new world, where magic is real and possible and she is strong and independent and a warrior, her parents would take it away from her.
NEVER let your children believe that you are going to take their passions away from them. Never do this. Your children are your responsibility, yes, and you should try to keep them safe, but they are also human beings, and they have a RIGHT to interact with the world. If you use your authority to make them afraid to do so- Or worse, to make them feel like doing so is shameful and they have to lie about it- all you are doing is hurting them and training them to lie.^^^ THAT RIGHT THERE ^^^^^ THAT IS WHAT I’M REBLOGING THIS FOR

for real tho, if you have a hook with a string on it, you can hook onto the chandelier and pull it to you, then you can step on it and swing by onto the room. If you forget to bring the hook with you, you could always just jump down since it isn’t that far. Just hope that the chandelier is strong enough to hold you for a while.
