i mean basically space hitler was like “hey mayor, how’s about i blow up your city? people screaming, homes shattering like eggshells, flaming babies shooting out of the wreckage – or you can just hand over a couple-three folks i have a beef with” and lando was like “oh my fuck do NOT bomb my city what the shit” and space hitler was like “haha now you are a villain” and lando was like “i’m gonna need so much therapy”
i honestly feel for the man and never considered him a bad guy. vader had hostages.
the idea that anyone might Blame Lando shocks me to my very core
Part of the problem is we never actually see civilians suffering, so the threat doesn’t seem real, similar to in episode 1 where we never see the negative impact of the planet being occupied.
Also, imagine it from Lando’s POV. He’s settled down after a rebellious criminal period and become a responsible adult TM and gone into local politics. Then a guy from his past rosks up and is like “dude you have to hide me from the cops!”
Lando: sure Han, I’ll hide you from the cops–

Lando is a good man in a bad situation. He had people to look after and did what he could. Even with Vader changing the deal on him.
On this blog we love and respect Lando Calrissian.
It’s wild how like… JKR is so skilled at so many aspects of writing, especially in little character moments, but when it comes to implications of throwaway lines she just… not a SINGLE thought.
Like in Chamber of Secrets, when Harry is talking to Tom / Voldemort and is like, you Framed Hagrid, Tom is like, yeah he was always trying to raise monsters,
he says that Hagrid tried to raise werewolf cubs under his bed like…
