Digimon Tamers is great because it’s probably the most realistic interpretation of what would happen if I pet monster anime actually happened. Like they do a good job delving into the psychology of children who are forced to use their pets as weapons to fight and protect the world, and the psychology of the pets themselves. Which is very unique when it comes to anime in that kind of genre. However that being said I still believe the most unrealistic part of that anime is the fact that it implies that people actually played the Digimon Trading Card game.
don’t forget that the start of the plot revolves around the government trying to keep the pet monsters a secret and trying to kill them before making an ultimate one that could destroy all the others.
