You know what this is from? From the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Which is used by psychologists to diagnose mental illnesses. It has been organized and reviewed by hundreds of experts in mental health. You are not a psychologist. Which is obvious because you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how this works. If you do, show me your creds. But I doubt you have any of the proper education to be making claims like this. Pedophiles do not choose to have their attraction. And one does not magically become one just because they like a fictional ship. What if someone likes a ship when they’re young, do they all of a sudden have a paraphilic disorder when they hit eighteen years of age if they continue to ship it, even though their actual sexuality lacks any interest in minors? No. Of course not, that’s fucking stupid. Just like you sound right now. You are NOT qualified to accuse people of such a thing without knowing anything about them beyond their ships.
And it’s not actively harming others, a piece of art or a story created by some random person on the Internet isn’t hurting anyone. It’s not real, it’s just pixels sitting on a screen. No one is making you see it, it’s not twisting your arm, it can’t do anything. PEOPLE choose to hurt others. PEOPLE choose to break the law and do horrible things. There was actually a court case regarding this that you should probably look at.

movies, games, video games, candy, money etc. that might be used for
immoral purposes, yet we would not expect those to be prohibited because

words and deeds, and does not tolerate banning of mere words simply
because those words could lead to bad deeds. Furthermore, things like fanart that depict what are clearly distinguishable from REAL children, is not illegal because it “records no crime and creates no victims by its production.” In the end, the CPPA, or Child Pornography Prevention Act, simply outlawed “computer-generated images virtually indistinguishable from real children in sexually explicit conduct” along with, of course, actual child pornography with real people in it. Virtually indistinguishable. Referring to something like extremely realistic CGI that could make someone believe it’s real. Not fucking stylized anime or otherwise fanart that looks nothing like an actual person.
