I fucking love how tumblr has been using high flicker rate gifs on the login screen. Have you not heard of epilepsy?
not to mention that once in a while i go to a blog, and either the url is changed, they deleted, or i just typed it wrong, and it’s literally always a p high flicker rate gif:/
For anyone with sensitive eyes or epilepsy, if you’ve downloaded AdBlock, you can get rid of these GIFs.
Go to ‘options’, it should open up in another window. You can then go to ‘customise’ tab, and select ‘manually edit your filters’.
If you then paste tumblr.com###fullscreen_post_bg, the GIFs should no longer show up (in the very least, they shouldn’t show up when you go to an unclaimed URL).
Reblogging for any followers who have issues with this.
jestre would you like to signal boost this?
Boosted.

the web designers of this site should honest to god be fired.
I’m not sure they know the first thing about web design.
in order to make a website more efficient and fully functional, you reduce the amount of clicks it takes to get where you want to go, you don’t hide main features in an attempt to gain a more “minimalist” layout. you don’t ignore the complaints of your userbase who are telling you that it is not functional for them and that it’s inaccessible for many. you don’t ignore the fact that nearly 90% of your userbase uses multiple third-party extensions just to make the website work properly.
you also do things like twitter does:
“we have a new layout, here’s an option to switch and please provide us with feedback to better your experience”
not
“hey we’re changing shit without mentioning it and you can get over our poor decision making and design oversights”
if you want to have a popular website, making it work is usually your best bet

What the hell is going on with that anatomy?
I think the red is the nose and the white is the ear but it’s still unclear

I’ve finally figured it out.
Whipped up a user script to correct this horrible design flaw that came out with yesterday’s update.
Script and instructions are up on my site: https://wuffleton.com/code/tumblrsidebar/
I’m not responsible if this script burns down your house or starts a nuclear war, but it should at least work with Chrome and Firefox (possibly others, but untested)! Hope this is of use to some of you :3
Updated with a few minor fixes for Xkit users! Should not interfere with the button and shouldn’t go below Xkit sidebar elements (hopefully)!
This is the guy who helped me with my sidebar. Go support him and shit.

You know what a great episode would be?
Steven gets hurt (not too badly, only a broken arm or something like that) and gets sucked into his gem to recover, because that’s what gems do when their form is badly damaged.
Inside, he gets to meet what remains of his mother for the first time, gets to hear her tell him she loves him face to face, without a screen between them. Gets to feel what his mother’s hug is actually like.
But when it’s time for him to return to the outside world. Something goes wrong. Very, very wrong, and instead of Steven appearing out of the gem, like everyone expects, it’s Rose Quarts.
And Rose flips her shit, because somehow she’s alive and Steven is nowhere to be found, and they have to do something, anything, to get him back out of the gem.
They succeed, but not until after all the gems-who already seem to blame Steven for Rose not being around- are forced to take a long look at themselves and make the choice: Help Rose and Greg get Steven back and lose her again forever, or refuse, keep Rose alive, and deal with the fact that they, by making this choice, are the reason why Steven will never get to live.
Yeah, that sounds like a good episode.
This sounds like a movie
