I don’t know what’s worse. Good ideas executed terribly or awful ideas executed flawlessly.
The Avatar movie
And the movie Avatar
Example by @mirandamnit
yeah they’re both horrible.
here is a great idea executed horribly

And a horrible idea executed flawlessly

Clearly, Horrible ideas executed flawlessly are amazing and great ideas executed poorly are absolute shit.

Happy birthday @Arcinox!
My birthday gift for my dear Arci (Psst go wish her a happy birthday too)
This took easily 7+ hours to make, I hope it shows! Painting shading is so tough
kirito0847-blog asked: Hello poni-pon! I'll just get right to it since you probably get a ton of questions everyday, I've recently taken up art (about 5-6 months now) and I'm having trouble with shading, do you have any advice for practicing it and/or learning how to shade better?
c: i actually don’t get a ton of questions everyday despite what people think. (I’m actually not all that popular-)
So what I do for particular pieces is, with Paint tool sai:
Step one: draw the thing
Step Two: Select the thing with the Magic Wand!
Step three: make a new layer, and set it to multiply!
Draw in where your shading goes!
I play around with the opacity to where it’s not as dark. c:
Reselect with the magic wand!
Choose luminosity for your new mode, add another layer, and play with the opacity settings so it’s not as bright. c:
aaand there you go! That’s how I shade. c: …when I do shade.
