While 4chan can be considered quite small when compared to the rest of the internet (facebook, tumblr, twitter etc) that doesn’t mean they don’t have a disproportionate level of power. They’ve hacked politicians and governments, they’ve hacked major tech companies and used their technical superiority to harass normal people to the point of suicide.
It’s almost like saying the wealthiest 1% have no power over the 99%.
Racism is unacceptable, even if their numbers are apparently small. Racism is like a cancer that’s just waiting to grow uncontrollably and destroy an otherwise healthy society. The only known treatment for cancer is to identify it early and hit it hard. You need to fight it with everything you have.

You do know that the big difference between 4chan and the other things is that 9/11 and the holocaust lead to the deaths of many, many people.
Unless at least half a million people are killed by 4chan users, then I don’t think you should compare them.

4chan is the source. That’s why it’s the preferable target for rehabilitation and adjustment BEFORE it is a chance to become metastatic and hit the rest of the internet. If we do what we can to educate and influence even a small portion of them then it will reduce the overall damage if it ever does spread.
I’d like to extend an apology to any real life cancer victims for using your illness as a metaphor. My time is limited and I’m short for words. I know that doesn’t excuse my actions but if I can think of a more apt comparison in the future I will go back and change the posts.

Tell me where 4chan was in Salem in 1692. These are the three examples in which a certain group or groups were prosecuted and executed just because they didn’t fit another group or seemed different. These were times when prejudice was high and caused physical harm and death to millions. And you’re saying that a website that’s only a little bit over a decade old is the source?

It is a hoax. 4chan has been trying very hard in recent weeks to hijack any social justice movement. I also read, with my own eyes, the thread where they were discussing how to inject specially designed malware that would attack tumblr and its users instead.
