just everyones daily reminder that ryou bakura is a canon queer adn trans person :3c also yami bakura is canonically aroace and agender Bye
There’s never been ‘cannon’ evidence on any of that. I can almost get the trans bit, since in the manga Bakura got bullied by students AND by teachers over his hair length. But beyond that? Nothing else supports the theory.
What you can say is cannon, is that Bakura doesn’t adhere to ‘gender norms’ and is comfortable dressing however he likes despite what others do to him.
(Including a teacher yanking on his hair, seriously wtf I don’t feel bad for that prick at all)
Disagreement over what and what isn’t cannon isn’t transphobic. And personally, I really like the headcanon of Bakura being trans. I would love for that to be cannon.
There is cannon. A thing confirmed by the creators and show lore. Aka, Rick from Rick and Morty is -cannonly- Pansexual. And Greg might be either Pan or Demi. Korra is cannonly Bi and in a romantic relationship with Asami from ATLA;LOK. And Garnet is cannonly a fused pair of tiny lesbians. Gear from Static Shock being gay is also cannon.
Head Cannons. Bakura being trans. Rick and Morty being trans. Harry Potter being literally and metaphorically in the closet is a head cannon. Haru being ace is also a head cannon. Han Solo being force sensitive- head cannon. ECT.
This does not make your headcanon any less valid. Head Cannons are meant for you to use all the grey areas and holes left by the show cannons as your own personal sandbox. Hell, even if a show were to present a cannon that directly contradicts your headcanon, no one is gonna stop you from continuing to celebrate your brain thoughts.
Not everyone that disagrees with you is ‘phobic’. Please don’t use that term so loosely in the future.
just wondering who gives a fuck whats canon an why do u feel th need to argue against trans headcanons like Who Cares whats canon. i dont. not a lot of people do. the only people who do use that as an excuse to not want their fave characters to be trans bc they hate trans people Bye
I’m… not fighting with you. Look man, you’re taking this extremely personally and I don’t think you know what the difference between what a cannon and a head cannon is.
Here’s a wiki of trans characters in film and media. I know there isn’t much yet in anime and cartoons, but its all the more reason to fight for it. Ten years ago it was unthinkable for there to be gay characters we could actually root for in children’s media and while we don’t have a enormous representation for that today, it’s certainly growing.
I hope the trend continues. I hope we see not just more same sex couples with both speaking and non speaking roles, but also 100% undeniable trans characters too. I want this to be normalized.
You should also know that Deyo, the person who commented isn’t transphobic. He could of put it better what he was feeling sure, but… jesus this is just blowing up isn’t.
Look, I’m sorry for upsetting you, that wasn’t my intention in the least.
I have a problem with poeple headcanoning trans. It feels like it puts trans people into a certain role and feels like i’’m being generalized. It feels more like trans people are being fetishized and not supported.
