I am so sick of Tumblrites tossing the words: triggered, toxic, abusive, misogynist, rape culture, ignorant, oppressed, and bigot at posts like there’s no tomorrow. There are other words too but these ones are the most commonly used and misused at that.
Triggered
What Tumblrites think it means: A word or image that made you slightly uncomfortable or offended.
What it actually means: A word or image that brings traumatic flashbacks of an event that remembrance of said event makes it difficult to function normally in the present.
If you are so sensitive that anyone who has a different taste than you makes you have to let everyone know that they should stop because it “triggers” you, then you should get off the computer, go visit a retirement home, and present your argument in front of veterans of why your “trigger” of someone saying/enjoying something you found offensive deserves the same amount of attention and support as their triggers of fighting in a war,watching their comrades die, and/or being tortured.
Toxic(when used to describe a person)
What Tumblrites think it means: Someone who is not supportive of EVERYTHING you do
What it actually means: Someone who manipulates you to change your beliefs or lifestyle to what they want through fear, guilt, or violence.
I am so sick of posts like “If your friends do not support your choices then they are toxic and you should cut them out of your life”. How dare they have different ideals than you, they’re such trash. My main concern is the vagueness of “your choices” because that makes Tumblrites interpret that anyway they want. If it were something more specific like "If your friends do not support your choice to come out as ____sexual then they are toxic and you should cut them out of your life" then I could understand that. Also maybe there’s a good reason why your friends do not support your actions. Like you cut yourself, starve yourself, do drugs, join a bad crowd, isolate everyone, or become suicidal and your friends try to stop you. They’re not trying to stop you to be toxic they’re trying to stop you because they’re concerned and care about you. A toxic person wouldn’t care, they just pretend to care but they just see you as a pawn.
Abusive
What Tumblrites think it means: Someone who wants you to do something/ Someone who got mad one time and screamed at you in anger that one time
What it actually means: Someone who continuously makes you feel awful through attacking your verbally, psychologically, or physically to the point where you see yourself as worthless.
I keep hearing this among friends and from random people “One time _____ yelled at me and I knew from that point on that they were abusive so I left them.” “Did I tell you that ___ wanted me to pick up the slack? They said they didn’t feel I was doing my part and it wasn’t 50/50, what an abusive asshole!”. I’m sick of people thinking that a perfect relationship is one with no fighting. A perfect relationship is a relationship that can stay together even after a fight. Did you know a fight now and then is actually healthy? It allows you to establish your feelings and reduces stress after letting your thoughts be said. A relationship with no fights is most likely the abusive one because it indicates that one of the partners is too afraid to speak their mind so they just submit to their partner. The cases where said abused partner does stand up for themselves then the other one plays the victim card and accuses them of being abusive for talking back. Also when people are enraged they sometimes say things they don’t mean. Next, your partner asking for something is not abusive. I’ll tell you of one example from my experience. I had a friend, we’ll call him H, and H was dating B. B was jobless, sat around, watched TV and ate food that H bought. Every time I went to H’s house, B was always like that. One time H had enough of it and called B out and told her that he pays for everything and does all the housework and she needs to pull her weight and go find a job or something productive instead of sitting around while H does all the work. B starts going on about how he was “unsupportive” of B’s “lifestyle” and called H abusive and dumped him. B told her friends about it and they supported her saying H was such an asshole for standing up to her like that. If you think you can just laze around while your partner does most of the things and you whine when they ask you to do something, then you are not relationship material.
Misogynist
WhatTumblritesthink it means: Someone who disagrees with your opinions that happens to be male
What it actually means: Someone who actively hates women and performs gender specific acts of violence against females.
I say someone because people who hate women are not exclusively male. There are women who hate women. It’s pretty pathetic that Tumblrites have to resort to the “I’m a woman” card because in their fantasyland women are immune to arguments apparently. There was even a post about how you can tell which man is a sexist by if they fight back. The example they used is the infamous “not all men” argument and said that all men were pigs, misogynists, and rapists and if a male argued against it, then it is “sexist” because a man that argues against a woman is silencing her and degrading feminism. I couldn’t care less about your gender, if I feel your opinion is wrong, I’m going to debate. Not all men are misogynists and not all misogynists are male. Get over it.
Rape Culture
What Tumblrites think it means: The seedy underbelly of society where men from all over the world conspire on how to prey on girls
What it actually means: slang for a male prison
Yes you heard right, male prison. The origin of this word began in male exclusive prisons used to describe the criminals who would rape males. That means the victims of rape culture were males. It doesn’t take a genius to know what happened to it when Tumblr got a hold of it.Tumblrites scoff at the idea that males were raped. Tumblrites think “they’re too privileged to have problems” “I know, let’s make it a gendered issue, specifically for females!” “Yes, we shall use it to show females as the victims and blame males for it’s existence”.
Ignorant
What Tumblrites think it means: Someone who has a different opinion than you
What it actually means: lacking knowledge
You can look in the comment section on any opinion on this site and I guarantee you’ll find someone screaming “YOU ARE IGNORANT” just because they don’t agree. “I think blue is the best color” “RED IS THE BEST YOU ARE IGNORANT” It’s funny how SJWs will spew “YOU’RE IGNORANT” but when someone asks for proof or to teach them what is correct, the SJW will then say “It’s not my responsibility, educate yourself!”. That’s called burden of proof fallacy.
Oppressed
What Tumblrites think it means: mildly inconvenienced/ didn’t get everything that you wanted.
What it actually means: subject to harsh and authoritarian treatment.
Oh no, you didn’t get hired because you look and act unprofessionally, your professor told you to focus instead of wasting classtime browsing the internet, someone has a different preference than you, people gave you a dirty look, that skinny girl has a date and you don’t, nobody takes your bunself pronouns seriously? You are clearly so oppressed. Better go type about how oppressed you are on your laptop/tablet/ipad/iphone. Never mind that in third world countries gays are publicly executed, women are stoned to death if they reveal any non-approved parts of their bodies, that most kids will not get a proper education because their “schools” are just shanty towns with just one teacher. Forget about the citizens of North Korea who live under totalitarian rule. Clearly you’re the one with true oppression and need to be a priority.
Bigot
What Tumblrites think it means: Someone who disagrees with you that happens to be straight/white/cis/male.
What it actually means: a person who actively hates or refuses to accept the members of a particular group.
You probably get it by now, Person A has an opinion, Person B disagrees and has supporting evidence, Person A is too prideful/enraged to lose and pulls out the Ad Hominem. This time it’s the phrase “If you disagree then you’re a bigot”. Tumblrites will just throw this everywhere to silence anyone who has a differing opinion. The worst part is they’re just throwing this at white/cis/straight people who did nothing instead of the actual bigots. You know like TERFs (Trans ExcludingRadical Feminists) who spew hatred against transpeople saying transmen are “traitors” and transwomen are “not true women/ they just want to reap the benefits of feminism”. Or what about SJWs? They’re bigoted too because they’re generalizing anyone who is straight/white/cis/male as evil that needs to be eradicated. You’re judging people who have done nothing to you by their appearance and you’re telling them to go die? Now that is the mindset of a bigot.

Dyaphoria is like wanting to take a knife to your genitals because it isn’t correct. It’s losing all energy when people call you by the wrong gender. It’s things beyond your control giving you serious anxiety or depression or both. It’s impossible to truly explain Aland there are people who act like it’s simple. Fuck people who fake it to be a special snowflake.
People who think that you can be trans if you want to. They say that you don’t need dysphoria to be trans. Like, you can just come in one day and say “ Hey I’m trans ” just because you want to. No reason. They think gender is an accessory and not serious, and they make up pronouns like starself or bunself. They also make trans people look like jokes and get ridiculous because they usually (not all of em) like to say bad stuff about trans men and stuff. Basically, really really bad people that you need to stay away from.
They also like to say stuff like “ demigirl/demiboy doesnt exist ” or “ transmen arent real men ” or twist the words of truscum, and call anyone who disagrees with them a “transphobe”.
If anybody is curious, this is a reference to Blue and Orange Morality. A morality that runs on it’s own rules and doesn’t prescribe to normal morals. This type of morality comes with ‘proud warrior races’ or ‘the guy who butchered a village but can’t kill a child.’ type thing.
