If you crush a cockroach, you’re a hero. If you crush a beautiful butterfly, you’re a villain. Morals have aesthetic criteria.
To be fair cockroaches infest homes, ruin food, and spread diseases and parasites. Butterflies on the other hand are harmless and actually help to pollinate the plants we need to breathe. Evolution has taught us that cockroaches are bad, not aesthetically based morality.
