i once knew a girl who spent most of her free time reading gay smut, but she was extremely uncomfortable any time she had to interact with a lesbian because she was afraid they’d hit on her.
that’s not being a supporter. that’s fetishizing homosexuality.
nobody cares if you ship destiel or johnlock or whatever, if you’re not okay with real life gay people, you’re still homophobic. it’s the same with guys who watch lesbian porn but don’t think that gay marriage should be legal. you can’t fetishize someone’s sexuality like that. that’s not okay and you are the worst kind of homophobe if you do.
Imagine being a vet tech in the Pokemon World though
constantly lecturing people about not giving their grass-types enough sun
ditto with not bathing their fire pokemon
someone brings in their munchlax for a check up and in the middle of the exam it evolves
double and triple checking that no zangoose or sevipers are scheduled anywhere near each other
giving oral meds to a pinsir
whole clinics that specialize in psychic or ghost pokemon that most normal clinics just can’t deal with
clinics keeping around pokemon like sylveon or meganium to help calm trainers and patients
I am actually super in love with the idea that psychic Pokemon would be a great asset to Pokemon Centers and whatnot. We have seen psychic types communicate understandably to humans as well as other Pokemon, so this would provide a simple link of communication to help with difficult to diagnose internal, physical injuries as well as discussing issues the Pokemon might mentally be having, too, that they just can’t communicate. Maybe training is too hard, or they are worried about their trainer’s health or something.
My OC, Holly, is actually a Pokemon vet tech based on this idea. : D
But imagine psychic types being able to communicate with pokemon and people in comas.
Mom:

-rolls eyes shaking her head-
Me:
"Oh I'm sorry, is the fact that they are legally getting married hurting you in some way?"
Mom:
"Well no, but..."
Me:
"Is it having any personal affect on your life whatsoever that two people who love each other can now legally get married just like any straight people who love each other have always been able to?"
Mom:
"Yes! They are doing something I don't like."
Me:
"That is the logic of a child. I'm going to tell you exactly what you told me when I used that logic on you."
Mom:
"What?"
Me:
"Suck it up sweet cheeks, the world doesn't revolve around you."
