On Monday, the media was quick to paint a single picture of Baltimore: a chaos scene of violence and mayhem filled with images of looting, rioting, the burning of a CVS and the torching of a police car. But on the ground, a very different story unfolded — and these remarkable photos and videos are proof.
fyi ‘satire’ isn’t just ‘hyperbolic exaggeration of the same shit we usually see with a disclaimer that it’s different.’ There actually has to be, like, an element of condemnation in its thesis.
It’s not ironic if it actively celebrates what it’s condemning.
All of it, apparently. I am usually demanded to show proof of which I link them to earlier posts. Almost always boils down to, “Well, don’t you think you’ve made your point? How much longer are you going to make her suffer?” Which shows they still don’t understand. Maia’s ‘suffering’ honestly does not matter in reguards to her actions. Reap what you sew, karma, responsibility of actions, Ect. Ect.
So this about punishing her? Getting revenge? Because that’s what I gather from this.
Revenge? Nah. Taking her to court would be revenge. This blog does hold her accountable for her actions though (at least online) so sure, punishment works for me. Not the main focus but meh. *shrug*
I think it’s more about treating her like a sentient human being who is aware of her actions and holding her responsible for them.
i still do not understand what possessed so many well-respected actors to do the spy kids movies like
did they pay really well? did you want these beautiful, terrible movies to be a blemish on your career forever?? why
antonio banderas did so many high-profile movies then in spy kids he looked like this
tony shalhoub has won multiple emmys but he did spy kids and
even fucking george clooney wtf
steve buscemi is pretty goofy but still
salma hayek’s pigtails in this wow
elijah wood was the lead in a movie that’s tied for the largest number of oscars of all time and he played a character creatively named “THE GUY”
sylvester stallone is like a cultural icon and he played not one but FOUR ridiculously dressed weirdos
alan cumming is the only one i can understand
Spy Kids is a national treasure
how dare you talk about spy kids as though it is not the most brilliant franchise ever created
Because sometimes even the most serious of artists just like to do something silly for fun.
Spy kids is over the top, ridiculous, and amazing. It’s not meant to be taken seriously, it’s for shits and giggles and the actors had a shit ton of fun doing it.
