It seems like Ruby was their strength, and Sapphire was all abilities. If the mutation theory is correct, then that'd mean that Garnet has no mutations, she's a perfect fusion.
Among other things, Sapphires represent prophecies. This means That Sapphire is most likely the one with future sight. Also, gem fusions are absolutely perfect when the gems are completely in sync. remember how stevonnie looked normal and garnet was incredibly happy because of how perfect steven and connie fused? Other fusions like Opal are when the gems are kinda normal because the gems still understand each other, just not on a romantic level. And then there are gems that are forced to fuse like Malachite where the gems hate each other and form some sort of monster fusion.
But yeah, Sapphire is the one with future sight and garnet and stevonnie are perfect fusions.
