They kinda live up to the legend, too. Your average Norwegian Forest Cat is twenty pounds of solid muscle, with claws large and strong enough to climb solid rock. They’ve been known to attack bears when defending their territory. And yet they’re one of the cuddliest breeds out there, particularly noted for being patient with small children.

somebody deliberately poisoned the air on the 9th floor of the hotel with chlorine gas at about 12:40 in the morning. thousands of people were evacuated from the hotel (not all of them were there for FurFest) and nineteen people wound up in the hospital as a result of the poisoning (source)
basically this was an act of terrorism and it’s actually really fucking terrible. nobody deserves this

Chlorine gas was used in WWI, and has the potential to kill. At MFF, it seems the criminal wanted to release these toxic vapours after his or her victims went to sleep. It wasn’t just furries who were harmed here, either… think about the hotel staff, and families, and children, who got poisoned. So no, this not fucking funny. This is not a joke. This was an immature, careless, and mean-spirited act of terrorism.
I would not say it was careless or immature. That makes the situation seem like merely a prank. This was straight up terrorism. People got hurt. People were hospitalized. People are in shock. People could have died. This is just as serious as, say, the boston bombing.
