I just had a dream where I had to take this waterbender assassin who could make poison out of water to an earth kingdom city because she likes the colour green and I needed to bribe her into giving me info about this person she once fought.
I have a few copies of “Playboy” from the 1970s stashed away somewhere. One of them has a letter where a guy writes in saying, “I met this really gorgeous, sweet woman, and we were planning to get married, but she sat me down yesterday and told me that she had a sex change before she met me. When someone finally posts a mod pic and you find out they are hot.
Its not that I don’t love my style, and I admire many who have adorable styles! Its just a bit disheartening that because of this style choice that even if I and others attempted a story it wont be judged or looked at the same way as other styles are. As it seems that people despite liking a cute art style feel like its the only reason that the blog gets popular (which is true sadly at least it seems so).
Perhaps its just me overthinking, but I would and have been working hard on getting a story out. And when I finally start it up I’m afraid my cutesy art style still will be the only thing that will keep people coming. And that people will not help critic or really care much for the story once it starts.

Your style and story are two different things. Don’t believe that you have to choose between the two.
Maybe its because I’m simply biased against the whole Tyrantlestia thing, but I simply cannot in good faith approve of either how Papillon is portraying Celestia nor how he is handling criticism of it. Even disregarding the can of worms that is Celestia’s portrayal, calling people “butthurt” because they’re voicing concern/disapproval of how one of the most noble and kindhearted characters in the show is being portrayed as…something completely opposite that just seems juvenile.

Look. The fact is everything EVERYTHING is up to interpretation. We will NEVER know the exact character of a pony, especially not a background pony, villain, or maybe even an alicorn. If someone wants to portray Celestia as a tyrant, who the fuck REALLY cares?
Saying celestia shouldn’t be portrayed as a tyrant is like saying the Doctor can’t be a toy or scootaloo can’t be a male. It’s not up to you to decide how someone else should run their own blog, it’s up to them. The only one I see being juvenile is the person who is telling someone else how to run their own blog.
Ironic considering how a while ago you criticized someone for having an alicorn oc living her life as a waitress. You really have no right to reblog that after pulling that bullshit.
The problem with an alicorn being a waitress is that it makes absolutely no sense. Celestia being a tyrannical leader? That is fully within the relm of possibility. The only way I can let an alicorn being a waitress pass is if everyone in the universe is an alicorn.

There is a difference between having an OC based off of a god species while making them useless and having a national leader in canon end up abusing their powers.
What I am trying to tell you is that it can only pass if it makes sense. If it logically happen. A universe where alicorns are gods and having one be some incredibly mundane person despite basically being a god does not make any sense.
A world leader abusing their political and magical power does make sense.
