Counterpoint: Electricians don’t go around bragging about how they’re gonna build a mass-based political movement around their speciality
Also: Bullshit. My uncle was an electronics engineer. He was also capable of explaining what we were doing, in ways my autistic ADHD brain could understand, when I “helped” him rewire his house as a kid. (mostly I handed him tools and asked too many questions.)
It’s not about academia producing gurus, it’s about understanding both what you’re doing and the inferential gap between you and the rest of the world when it comes to your specialty.
If you don’t even understand how specialized your work is, how well can you really understand the work?
âprivate detective who canât help but grudgingly admire the clever, charming rogue theyâve been hired to catch despite being increasingly frustrated by their ability to evade themâ is such a fun dynamic. like we all know how itâs gonna end but itâs still so exciting to watch.
detective: you should just turn yourself in, itâll save you the humiliation of me catching you and me some time
criminal: IF you catch me. AND if you havenât fallen in love with me by then ;)
detective: what
me:
*one of them gets injured or finds themself danger or both and the other one swoops in to save them even though it means risking their job and/or freedom as well as their life, and they agree a temporary truce in order to both get out of the situation but swear that âit doesnât mean anythingâ and âiâm not doing this for youâ and refuse to acknowledge or talk about it afterwards*
Zuko.. Makes more sense when you remember he doesn’t get a lot of sleep. Like canonically he’s just so tired most of the time
When he was instantly nicer to Iroh after getting sick? That’s because he took a fucking nap
I should rewatch atla and take note of how stupid and/or angry he’s acting + how much sleep he got prior I think I’m onto something here I think I can statistically prove that Zuko is like this because he’s tired
