How much of a twat do you have to be to have fish and chips that looks like this

For any non-Brits looking at this in confusion, this is an extremely artisanal (and thus extremely pretentious) version of fish and chips.
Fish and chips is one of those dishes that British cuisine is famous for (not getting into any arguments about its origins here). It’s a fillet of fish, battered, served with chips and optional peas.
It’s hearty pub fare, or you can get it at a chippy - there are nice chippies and cheap chippies (there’s a phrase “cheap as chips” for a reason) - and it more often looks like the image from the Wikipedia article.
Big chunky chips, battered fish, maybe a lemon slice to give it a little kick. It’s not a particularly healthy meal, necessarily. It’s not something that needed to be made gourmet and pretentious.
Hence the visceral reaction against the Tory twat’s photo.
Of course, the other half of that reaction is that he’s a Tory and the hatred of Tories in Scotland is just about as deeply-seated as it is here in Wales, so almost anything he posts would get quite a visceral reaction.
The only reason I want to be sent a picture of someone’s food is if they’re offering me a bite or teaching me to make it.

What’s worse is the puny size of the fish too though. Like you know he got that from some fancy ass restaurant and paid like $19 for that pitiful meal where as I would only pay $4. It looks like he ordered from the damn kids menu.

some teenagers on twitter are currently trying to drive off an antifascist activist who is well-known for doxxing nazis and is often physically threatened with violence IRL because one of the hundreds of people who regularly send her death threats later went on to commit a mass shooting and she didn’t report the person threatening to kill her (again, one of hundreds) to the police (who repeatedly threaten and have physically abused her) and the mass shooting is therefore her fault
so uh, twitter is bad and awful and i’m very thankful tumblr is not like that at the moment
update: apparently the person who started this backlash was like 16-17 so now everyone’s like ‘wtf don’t blame a woman who gets hundreds of death threats for not reporting every single one of them to the police who don’t do anything anyway’ and all their friends are like ‘YOU’RE HARASSING A LITERAL CHILD, LEAVE THIS CHILD ALONE’
