Before the election I posted a comic on my Modest Medusa site asking my readers to vote against Trump. It received a LOT of negative comments, and I discovered that a LOT of my readers were Trump supporters. In response to some of the comments I told my Trump supporting readers that my comic wasn’t for them, that I didn’t want them reading it and I didn’t want their support.
However, I didn’t consider that a lot of them wouldn’t understand why. When you consider yourself to be the good guys, you’re surprised when other people don’t see you that way. Today I got a late response form one of my patrons, which I’m posting here along with my own response explaining why I don’t want Trump supporters reading my comic. If you’re a trump supporter and you like my work, please read and consider what I’m saying here.
My response:
And here was the reader’s response to mine:
So… I don’t regret telling Trump supporters that my time and work wasn’t for them. And I don’t expect any of them to change or see the harm they’re doing, at least any time soon. I do hope that we can all see these people for how they are.
i rly hope one day we get comfortable enough in media to have a girl break up with another girl and start dating a boy and its not “oh she was faking being gay” or break up with a boy and start dating a girl and its not “oh she was secretly a lesbian this entire time” like i really hope that we get comfortable enough with bi people in media for this to happen normally
