im gonna sound fucking high; but there’s just something about minecraft ‘body language’, man.
the way people crouch and do little bounces/bows to say hello, i’m friendly! the way they punch as a substitute for pointing or waving hello. the slow pulling out of weapon as a threat, quickly removing armor to show you are peaceful. sticking little signs in the ground and writing messages. the way people‘s avatars go still when they are thinking, or laughing so much their hands came off the keyboard. square eye contact. jumping, spinning, bobbing your head to music. punching your friend jokingly.
half of it is human perception but the other half is ways of communication we created ourselves, because people just are like that. they express themselves.
i know its just a block game but looking at it is so soothing and im feeling emotional tonight
Yes indeed! While I’m at it I may as well list what I have for each kingdom thus far. :3
-Hryule is pretty obvious (Hyrulians, Rito, Gerudo, Gorons, Zora) but even still I hadn’t done art for every race yet, which I plan on doing sometime soon.
-Lorule’s races are the Lorulians, Yamatami, Oocca, Yook, and Mogma. Artwork and headcanon of them all can be seen HERE.
-Holodrum is a little tricky since a lot of its races were pulled from Hyrule, but since I’m making it so each kingdom’s races are exclusive to it, they wouldn’t have the likes of Gorons or Zora living in Holodrum (or anywhere outside of Hyrule in general). SO! I’m thinkin’…. Labrynnans (sidenote: Labrynna will be a part of Holodrum, it is not separate for this AU/timeline), the Tokay, the Cobble, and the Usotami.
-Twilight Realm (otherwise known as the Twilight Kingdom) has the Twili, the Subrosians, and the Zola (not to be confused with the Zora).
-Realm of the Ocean King (otherwise known as Ocean Kingdom or The Land of Dragons) will have the Parella, the Watarara, the Kulu, and the Anouki.
-Hytopia’s races are the Hytopanistas, the Maiamai, the Zuna, and the Kikwi
-Koridai Kingdom (otherwise known as Monster Isle) is a very unique kingdom among all of these. Their population was once normal before Ganondorf’s Curse enveloped the entire island when he laid siege upon it; said curse turned all of the inhabitants into some form of monster. After one of Ganondorf’s many defeats lifetimes ago, the curse has since been lifted, but the majority of the inhabitants remained monsters. Regardless, they still regained peace and live relatively normal lives despite this.
The races of Koridai Kingdom are the Garo, the Vire, the Goriya, the Imps, and the Gibdo.
