In light of the new Cats the Musical 2019 movie I’d just like to put this out there

There are different street cat clans. The Musical follows the Jellical cat clan, which meets every year under the Jellical moon for their Jellical ball. At the end of the night, their leader, Deuteronomy, will choose one of them to “ascend to become a higher being.”
Killed. He means killed. The entire musical is the cats volunteering as tribute for the yearly ritual sacrifice by bragging about how awesome they are.

I don’t know what I was expecting from the musical but it wasn’t that.
can you imagine being 26 years old and in marketing and you want to settle down with a rich stupid man who’s crazy about you and you FIND a divorcee who hasn’t talked to his ex in over a decade and has a very forgiving custody arrangement that would easily enable boarding school and is willing to MARRY you after a SIX TO EIGHT WEEK SUMMER ROMANCE with NO PRENUP and then his brat kid comes back from summer camp and it turns out his ESTRANGED OTHER TWIN DAUGHTER came back from camp and they hijack your entire life and put a lizard on you and then your hot old man ditches you for his hot mess of an ex WHO DESIGNED… THE CUSTOM WEDDING DRESS YOU HAD ALREADY PAID FOR. truly. a roller coaster summer…. all that scheming WASTED

Tbh stories about romantic comedy movies like this from the POV of the perfectly fine but maybe a little mean or out of touch S/O that the protagonist eventually dumps for their “One True Love” makes them WAY MORE FUCKING DARK
