That is legit my favorite thing to do as a Storyteller. If my players are clever I will change things to reward their cleverness. (I will never change things to make them fail, but I will definitely change things to allow them to succeed when it would reward their cleverness or make a cooler story.)
RPGs are collaborative and sometimes my players have better ideas than I do, so why shouldn’t their ideas get to shine? Hell yes.
To this day I still think “I wish squids were real” is the funniest example of ascended canon ever. Like, the first Splatoon game comes out, someone makes a Miiverse post just saying “I wish squids were real” (already peak comedy), “I wish X was real” becomes a meme in the Splatoon community and gets reposted everywhere.
Unironically the biggest death knell I heard for twitter was the fact that, as far as anyone is aware, there are no longer any furries working at twitter.
The rats have fled the sinking ship
The wolves have fled the sinking ship
The dragons have fled the-
I’m not even joking furries account for like 30% of all modern tech infrastructure.
ive never looked at an animated movie and go “i wish this was live action” but i have looked at a live action movie and went “i wish this was animated” countless times
something that rly creeps me out…..occasionally ill see videos or articles for christians or christian missionaries that say something like “what you need to do is make friends with non christians and really get them to trust you and THEN you start preaching to them and bringing them to jesus” and that is….man how much would it hurt to know that the only reason someone’s hanging out with you is to convert you to a religion you were never interested in. maybe this is a real friend, someone you really really feel like you connect to, and all of a sudden you cant hang out with them without being scared they’ll bring out the jesus stuff.
