What other anime did weird shit like make the sun and moon horrific smiling heads and gave a man an enormous screw through his fucking head as well as stitches literally all over his laboratory house whose fucking name was Franken Stein and a villain who’s so covered in eyes that even his hair looks like eyes and a weird interdimensional principals office that’s full of clouds and aesthetic crosses everywhere and smoke that always appeared in the shape of skulls and the main academy’s entrance was three massive skills with red spikes coming out of the eyes and the whole building itself is black and red and white and in fact every building was made to be every young goths wet fantasy since they were all mostly black, covered in skulls, and/or proportionately impossible just for the sake of Style?

Soul eater was pure aesthetic combined with whacky characters and a flimsy plot. And that was what made it perfect.
I also wanna point out that every witch villain had an animal motif and by god they stuck to it.
“My next D&D character will be serious, dark, & intense” I repeat to myself as I create a lizardfolk bard named Oxford who specializes in dual-wielding sickles, adaptive camouflage, & putting evildoers to sleep.
