I’m all for this, but I’m also in love with the comedic mental image of a person hacking off their hair in an intense scene, followed by a cutaway gag of them sitting awkwardly in a barber shop with a horrible hack job, waiting their turn.
i’m sorry but also i read that as like. youtube clickbait. like one of those weird animatic type videos where it’s like My Parents Have A Secret That Ruined My Life! with weird voice acting and a plot that just enrages you. ily rogue i’m sorry
talkin about it does enrage me and if i had any video editing skills i would definately make a video about it.
So when I was 18, my lung collapsed (you can check how it went here) and after they got the air out of my chest cavity with a tiny tube (after a few complications) so when they removed the tiny tube they said they were gonna monitor me for a couple days. Well only a few hours lateri was feeling worse than i came in. It was about midnight and i told a nurse and we asked for an xray and she said i had one scheduled in 6 hours and that i could wait. she told me, someone with a collapsed lung that had at one point twisted and nearly caused me a heart attack, that I could wait.
we had to demand an xray under threat of lawsuit in order to get one and even then, even when i could see on the xray that my lung was pretty badly collapsed even worse than when i checked in, the nurse didnt tell my doctor. the only ones who knew were me, my family, the xray tech and the nurse. my doc didnt find out about it until after the xray that was originally scheduled. we filed a complaint and got transfered to a different hospital. that was the only time in my life that i genuinely thought i was gonna die. nurses are aweful and shouldnt be in a position where peoples lives are in their hands
one of my fave DnD things is how, during character creation, people start talking in first person without realising. they start out like ‘well, she’s a paladin’ and within ten minutes their fists are clenched as they shout ‘MY SISTER DESERVED WHAT SHE GOT AND IF YOU DISAGREE I’LL KILL YOU TOO’
