I don’t think enough retellings of the Cain and Abel story make note of the fact that nobody had ever been killed or even died before when it happened. Cain had no idea beating his brother to death could possibly be a bad thing
Cain really did fuck around and find out
you know, got gets really pissed at people for doing things they didnt know could possibly be bad. Like remember when he got pissed at adam and eve for eating the apple when first of all, eve was never told to not eat it, only adam was. and without the apple they didnt even understand a concept of good or bad.
then theres that cane and abel thing
and then remember when god was like “yo, kill your son” and abraham was like “shit… i guess i have to” and god was like “WOAH stop i was joking holy fuck” like humanity really needs to get a lawyer and sue god for multiple counts of entrapment.
