Anonymous asked: consider this: alternian xfiles. theyre investigating xefros and joey and one is convinced that joey is an alien while the other is extremely skeptical... because it would be extremely unlikely that an alien could make it this far past alternias defense system undetected
troll mulder is super into the possibility of aliens being in alternia bc like, as trolls, they are all well aware that aliens exist, and that they will eventually interact with them as adults post exile. so the normal x files dynamic has changed in that way, and mulder is more…idk, into the conspiracy side of things that aren’t always alien related. like for example he actively questions the fact that lusii are a THING that’s normalized, and about the actual dynamics of the hemospectrum. ie is it REALLY biologically that differentiating? were limes actually aquatic? etc etc
troll scully (scullyy) is def more by the books, but she’s also less open to the idea of actually looking for explanations actively because she (a teal blood in comparison to her indigo counterpart) understands that even with her extended lifespan, she will never be able to really have the opportunity to discover as much as he could. she’d rather be happy, or at least content, than worried until her death. it’s a weird situation but when the inevitable occurs its fucking horrifying
also they’re moirails and eventually have some weird quadrant smeared relationship because they’re not sure what to believe in
i understand why vampires traditionally look dead but for my own purposes i’ve always preferred the opposite. they look too alive, as though every part of them is trying to convince you that they’re human. that they can be trusted. their cheeks are flushed like a painted doll’s, almost unnerving. all the saturation turned up, creating richer dark tones and brighter lights. their eyes look glossy, teary, emotional but glass-like. their appearances compensate for what they don’t have and as a result they’re just curious enough to intrigue you, like an uncanny painting whose eyes follow you as you walk through the museum, persuading you to return once more before you go just to ponder, when in reality they’re like a frog in the rainforest, poison but incredibly beautiful.
anne rice’s vampires were so radiant, so diaphanous, that they couldn’t appear under lamp-light lest they be taken for ghosts or phantoms. and their eyes were glass-like, iridescent, as were their fingernails, which I always found interesting. I’ve always personally leaned towards the idea that vampires are both divine and hideous, a kind of mirroring between the beauty in decay and the decay in beauty.
Vampires that look human and alive at first glance but the more you stare the more you notice discrepancies? so vampires look like AI generated faces?
