The main problem is we are a stupid 2 party system and we are only ever given two choices that have a chance at it, and there is too good of a chance that you will never actually like either one. So it’s either you choose someone you think is slightly less horrible or you don’t vote and leave it to everyone else. We are kind of trapped as regular citizens and there isn’t much that we can do about it on an individual level and it is frustrating. It also doesn’t help when a party is corrupt and rigs elections so certain candidates get nominations. Doesn’t matter if they are better or not.
I think this is more the state of our entire political system. Just watch the South Park episodes about choosing between a turd sandwich and a giant douche. This thing has been around for a long time.
