It never even crossed my mind before that people would do this!?! It’s actually worse than carving into one animal. Each coral is made up of thousands of tiny animals in one colony. Hundreds of individuals are killed for every slice here.
Let’s not pretend carving into a plant is harmless either though, it invites disease and many native tree species are endangered as it is.
How about just not graffiti-ing things that are alive in general??
