Most of Sans' jokes in-game were puns and whoopee-cushion pranks (so basically pretty clean humor) but when you fight him in Genocide, he gets deadly serious. In contrast, Papyrus makes a Shakespeare reference and an "AT LEAST I STILL HAVE MY HEAD!" joke and keeps on smiling as his severed head lays on the ground. The true comedic edgelord is Papyrus
Sans’ jokes are the equivalent of those “joke books” you’d read in 5th grade. They’re so clean as to be incredibly lame and there isn’t one edgy or dark thing about them. The fact that they’re lame and groan-worthy and just plain terrible is the POINT.
