Stages of understanding piracy:

Kid: Pirates are good! I wanna be a pirate!

Student: Pirates are actually bad because they steal things and break the law

Expert: Pirates are nuanced because many of them were disaffected sailors and escaped slaves only doing what they had to do to survive in a harsh society

Master: Pirates are good! I wanna be a pirate!

Donna Noble was a female character who:

-was in her early forties but didn’t have her life all together yet

-didn’t have a perfect Hollywood figure but nobody made a joke about her weight (to my knowledge)

-super funny and empathetic

-doubted her capabilities at first but learned to trust herself

-wanted to go on crazy space adventures but simultaneously wanted to get married and have a family and she was never derided for wanting both

-had a rich platonic relationship with the Doctor

-Appreciate Donna Noble

I got through a year of doing a temp job by reminding myself that Donna did too. And if she was “The Best Temp in Chiswick” well I could be the best temp in my dinky little office.

Thank you Donna.

Recognizing your own toxic behaviour is peak adulting. You don’t stop learning once you turn 18+.

My dad is almost 70 and always says he’s still growing, changing, and learning. That’s what life is, an ongoing experience that you gotta be open for change in.

“That’s just how I am” is bullshit, you don’t like it or you see it affects the ones you love negatively, you change that shit.
