One of my favorite things about Howl’s Moving Castle is how frankly and fluidly magic is portrayed. Magic suits its user, and because of this we hardly recognize it as magic because it matches the character.
This is all just to say, I really love that Howl’s magic is intellectual and Sophie’s is instinctive and intuitive.
Howl’s magic: so if we postulate that the allegorical addition of the circular wand motion at the 47th degree of the midnight chime from which the fire and brimstone qualities of the malachite substance-

I don’t know if that’s meant in a metaphorical way as in, “their insults have no bite” or a literal sense as in “someone was talking shit so he got his fucking teeth knocked out” but I like it either way
