I rewatched The Trial and noticed something that not many people seem to be talking about.
Remember when a large portion of the SU fandom actually thought that Yellow Diamond was a suspect to Pink’s shattering? I mean, the way she acted during the trial as Blue Zircon made accusations towards the diamonds was pretty peculiar. It was like she was hiding something.
But that’s just it though.
I think we just misread her behavior as a whole.
She’s looks either offended that anyone would even accuse her of shattering a member of her family
OR
She actually believes it herself that she played some part in having Pink disappear from their lives. She said it herself in Reunited.
“How miserable. I knew Pink couldn’t handle her own colony. But I gave in. And now, I’m to blame for her fate.”
This really strengthens her character and doesn’t give her the whole cookie-cutter villain persona. Yellow has deep, hidden emotions that she expresses in difficult ways which gives her a cruel undertone. And I fucking love this show even more.
